Over twenty five years of experience.
As educators, our responsibility is to our students, not our bottom line.
About us.
At ANDYPREP, our mission is to help students achieve the best possible outcomes. While the majority of our students go on to pursue their academic goals at world-renowned American universities, many explore opportunities for intellectual growth and development on nearly every continent. Our goals align with those of our students: to guide them toward attending prestigious universities and achieving their dreams. ANDYPREP is a place where highly motivated, self-driven, and ambitious students meet to strive toward excellence.
Since graduating from Cornell University, Andy has been an advocate for students and believes that in the college admissions process, knowledge is power. He also believes that education is about responsibility, not business. As educators, our responsibility is to our students, not to our bottom line. We have all had great teachers and professors from our days as students and memorable instructors who inspired us to achieve great things. Andy would like ANDYPREP and its teachers to be equally memorable to their students. His aim is to make test preparation and college applications less stressful by fully informing and supporting students in every way possible.
ANDYPREP does not simply teach students the “secrets” of test prep or college applications. We prepare them to achieve success in college and beyond.
About our founder.
When ANDY was in 9th grade, he moved to a small private school in Rhode Island. Because he was the only international student there, he quickly became bilingual, learning to speak English fluently. In high school, Andy graduated with a 4.0 GPA and a 1530 (single sitting) on his SAT. Andy took a rigorous course load, culminating in eight out of the ten AP courses available at his school.
His main extracurricular interests were athletics and mathematics. Andy won MIP (Most Improved Player) and MVP on his school’s varsity soccer team. He served as captain of his school’s lacrosse team, receiving multiple MVP awards. In his senior year, he and his team were distinguished as New England’s All-American 1st Team in lacrosse. Andy was also a member of his school’s Math Club for 4 years and won two awards at the Rhode Island School of Design tournaments.
While attending Cornell, he taught over 20 secondary and middle school students every summer, providing instruction primarily in SAT and TOEFL preparation. These experiences would lead him to found ANDYPREP in 2000 to provide the next generations of students with a definitive advantage in standardized tests and college admissions. Since then, he has helped over 200 students gain admission to Ivy League and top-tier universities, and has edited over 7,000 college essays. He is now known as Korea’s most popular and effective SAT teacher and college consultant.

“I was initially afraid of the American college admissions process but AndyPrep’s expert team provided 1:1 consulting to help me prepare my application. They analyzed my profile, helped me write my resume and my essays, prepared me for alumni interviews, and even took care of the little details in between to get me into the college of my choice.
With Andy’s know-how and tips, my weaknesses were well supplemented and my strengths were further emphasized. To my surprise, I was able to receive unexpected scholarships in the process. Whenever I had a question, my teacher kindly helped me, and when my mentality faltered, he gave me advice so I was able to take on college admissions without feeling like I was alone.
Thank you very much for your perfect preparation from beginning to end. AndyPrep is an academy I introduce to my younger friends and students. Thank you very much, AndyPrep. :)”

“From the 9th grade onward, receiving consistent counseling helped me address my weaknesses step by step. It was especially valuable to learn which activities would strengthen my application and what I should focus on at each stage of my college preparation.
Since my parents had no prior experience with studying abroad in the U.S., I could turn to my mentor for advice on areas where I was uncertain. This allowed me to stay focused on maintaining a strong GPA at school without being overwhelmed.
Moreover, instead of just attending SAT prep courses during the summer, I benefited from carefully planned schedules that outlined what to do and when. For someone like me who struggles to stay mentally resilient, Andy’s support during tough moments was invaluable in keeping me motivated and on track.
Even when it came time to complete my college applications, I didn’t have to worry about figuring out what needed to be done on my own. Having clear monthly guidance freed me to concentrate fully on my studies.”

“I shopped around a lot for admissions consulting because I felt that I had a dark road ahead of me but there was no stronger attraction than the words ‘education is a responsibility, not a business’ on the AndyPrep website.
After watching Andy’s channel on YouTube, I thought he would do his best to unlock student potential. I immediately applied for consultation and I really liked it so I proceeded with the consulting program. Consulting for colleges and majors, overcoming slump, SAT score management, English translation for recommendation letters, application management, etc.
All of these were thoroughly carried out as planned and finished in advance so I felt calm. Andy was able to maximize my potential, so I was offered admissions for the top schools on my list. I hope you don’t miss the dream school admissions ticket through the consulting program.”

“Andy Prep really helped me figure out my academic direction. I’d tried other consulting programs before, but they didn’t provide as much detailed guidance. With Andy Prep, I could see exactly what I needed to work on and which activities would boost my profile. The best part was how easy it was to reach out to Andy on KakaoTalk—he’d always reply quickly, which was super reassuring.
Thanks to the step-by-step plans and regular feedback, I gained confidence and learned a lot about my dream schools. The mentors were not only professional but also really kind, and they made sure I had all the right info to prepare the best way possible.
This whole experience helped me see that it’s not just about keeping up my GPA, but also about doing meaningful extracurriculars and trying new things. By the time I was a senior, I got into my dream school and felt really proud. Plus, the confidence I gained along the way will definitely help me in whatever I do next.”

“At first, I heard about Andy from a senior at my school. Later on, I checked out his YouTube channel and found a ton of helpful info about colleges. That’s when I thought, ‘Hey, I want to work with him on my college prep.’
When I started the program in 10th grade, I got a much better sense of what I was good at and what I needed to improve. Right from the beginning, the mentors gave me practical advice that was super relevant to my situation. I was really stressed at first, but their guidance helped me feel more at ease. Through our regular meetings, I was able to tackle the areas I was struggling with, and I slowly gained more confidence.
In 11th grade, I got a head start on my applications. The mentors’ advice on essay writing—like how to make my story more interesting—was especially helpful. I remember one thing they told me that really stuck: instead of worrying about my weaknesses, I should focus on showing off my strengths. That mindset made the whole process less overwhelming. And in the end, I got accepted early to one of my top-choice schools, which I’m totally thrilled about.”

“My older sister went through Andy Prep’s consulting and got into UPenn, so I started working with them in 9th grade. At first, I only got into it because my mom signed me up, but as we went along, I started to understand what I needed to do and got answers to my questions.
To be honest, when I was doing my Passion Project, I wasn’t sure if it would actually help me get into college. I mostly did it because I enjoyed it. But later, when the college I got accpeted sent me an acceptance letter and mentioned that they found my Passion Project impressive, I realized it was all worth it.
When I started my applications in 11th grade, I was really worried about time management. I tend to spend a lot of time on writing, and with over 40 essays for all the schools I was applying to, it felt overwhelming at first. But with help from my essay teacher at Andyprep, I managed to speed up the process. I was able to apply to all my schools without too much trouble, and I’m super happy that I got into my top-choice school!”
